Scholarship Luncheon Saturday, May 3rd, 2008 The Dallas Branch of American Association of University Women hosted ten accomplished high school graduates and their mothers for brunch to recognize the young women for their accomplishments and to award them scholarships for college for the 2008/2009 school year. The Dallas Branch awarded additional scholarship money to three women professionals who plan to return to school in the fall to advance their careers. Last year’s scholarship recipients were rewarded for their academic achievements with additional scholarship money awarded for next year. AAUW Biennial State Convention Friday, April 25th, 2008 The Dallas Branch of American Association of University Women hosted the biennial state convention celebrating 100 years of investing in the future of women in Texas. The day was marked by a visit to the Nasher Sculpture Garden, lunch at the Women’s Museum, and a docent guided tour of the Women’s Museum.
AAUW Dallas Branch Recognizes Women of Distinction Saturday, April 26th, 2008 In conjunction with the AAUW Biennial State Convention the Dallas Branch of AAUW hosted a reception at the Hilton Dallas Lincoln Center for Texas women recognized for their lifelong accomplishments in the fields of education, non-profit organizations, and community service. The women who were recognized are listed on the Women of Distinction page.
